Perfect Homemade Chex Mix Recipe:

Prep Time: 15 minutesĀ

Cook Time: 60 minutes

Total Time: 75 minutesĀ

Ingredients:

  • 3 C each of Wheat Chex, Rice Chex, and Corn Chex

  • 1 cup mixed nuts

  • 3/4 C Broken up bagel chips

  • 3/4 C Rye chips

  • 1 handful of pretzels

  • 7 T butter

  • 2 1/2 T Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 3/4 t seasoned salt

  • 3/4 t garlic powder (Honestly, I'm usually closer to 1 teaspoon)

  • 1/2 t onion powder

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 250°F (121°C).

  2. Melt butter:Ā Place butter in a large roasting pan (the same one you will put your chex mix in) place in the oven, and let the butter melt while you combine dry ingredients.

  3. Combine dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine Chex cereals, pretzels, nuts, bagel chips, and rye chips.

  4. Make coating. In the roaster, once the butter is melted, add Worcestershire sauce, garlic + onion powder, and seasoned salt and whisk until well combined.

  5. Bake: Spread the mixture into the roaster, stirring well being sure all the pieces are well coated. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

  6. Cool and serve: Let the Chex mix cool completely before serving I usually spread them all out on paper towels.

Tips:

  • It tastes THE BEST the next day :-)

  • Use a variety of cereals: For a more flavorful Chex mix, use a combination of different cereals, such as Wheat Chex, Rice Chex, and Corn Chex.

  • Add your favorite seasonings: Experiment with different seasonings to customize your Chex mix. Some popular choices include ranch seasoning, Old Bay seasoning, and hot sauce.

  • Make it ahead: This Chex mix can be made up to a week in advance and stored in an airtight container.

Enjoy this delicious and addictive homemade Chex mix!
